Open Design Alliance (ODA) has released new support for animation in its Visualize SDK (Software Development Kit). Visualize is a real-time 3D graphics engine for engineering design data.
ODA says new animation support can apply translation, rotation and scaling to any object in a model. Separate animations can be applied to sub-elements of a complex object, achieving sophisticated animation effects. A new camera object supports walk-through animations for AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction).
“We can now generate walk-throughs for IFC and Autodesk Revit models on any device,” said Neil Peterson, ODA President. “Animation effects can also be used in combination with collision detection to create advanced simulations for mechanical assemblies.”
Animation support is available in Visualize SDK version 22.7 and later, and is accessible to all ODA members at opendesign.com.
Pricing for ODA memberships can be found at opendesign.com/pricing.
