There is a continuing discussion taking place in public between a group of architecture firms and Autodesk over the cost and value of Revit. It started with an Open Letter from a group of architecture firms primarily based in the UK; London is arguably the world capital of architectural design.
A new blog post from architect Warwick Mihaly (co-founder of boutique firm Mihaly Slocombe) works the numbers behind Autodesk’s assertion that Revit is a bargain. It is quite an eye-opening article. The TL;DR is, Revit is far and away the most expensive software product in use at the typical architecture firm. Take a look for yourself:
